Hans Jacob Hermansen skrivar at enda, at tó at hugsanin hjá Ross McCall um grindadráp er hansara egna og sera privata avgerð, so vónar hann, at Ross McCall vil vísa honum tað virðing, at geva sær møguleikan at kunna hann um hesi evni, frá einum føroyskum sjónarmiði.
Her er brævið í heilum líki:
Dear Ross,
I understand that you plan to come to the Faroe Islands tomorrow as a supporter of the Sea Shepherd Grindstop 2014. You are more than welcome to visit our beautiful islands and I hope that will find them as exciting as we, the people of these islands, do. I also hope that you will respect our history and culture, as we respect you, your history, and your culture.
I presume that your knowledge about the islands may be fairly limited and biased, as your visit has been decided with very short notice, and the information is provided by the SS, so I offer to spend some time together with you to tell you about Faroese history and culture and other local topics that you might be interested in.
Your thoughts about pilot whaling in the Faroe Islands is your personal and very private decision, but we hope that you will show us that much respect that you will also give us the opportunity to inform you about this issue, while you are here, seen with the eyes of the Faroese people, who have lived - and survived - here for more than one thousand years.
Looking forward to your response,
Hans J. Hermansen, member of the Board of the Faroese Pilot Whaler's Association
